BRAND NEW GODBER PLAY SET TO BOWL YOU OVER!

He’s done Rugby League, been ‘On The Piste’ and brought judo and wrestling to Hull Truck’s stage. Now, BAFTA Award Winner John Godber puts the art of Crown Green Bowling in the spotlight! Booking is now well underway for his 54th play which premieres at Hull Truck Theatre on Thursday 31st May and runs until Saturday 23rd June.

Hull Truck is preparing for the cut and thrust of the Beech Hill Bowling Club in this amusing, sometimes unsettling bitter-sweet comedy. Follow the antics of Jack Batley the ‘Rocky Balboa’ of bowls! On the bowling green Jack is a legend from St Anne’s to St Ives, but will his title be snatched away? On the surface of the game all might appear to be normal, yet the world is changing fast, and Jack knows that come hell, Hull or high water, he’ll always be the ‘Crown Prince’ of the bowling green.

Hull Truck favourites Dicken Ashworth, (Bouncers), Rob Angell (Unleashed), and Jack Brady, (Wrestling Mad) make a welcome return. This is a John Godber play you cannot miss!
