Have an egg-stra special Easter at Hull Truck’s Spring Festival!
Hull Truck Theatre is dishing up some egg-stra special Easter fun with a top line-up for its Spring Festival! The festival will run during the Easter holidays, from Tues Mar 25 – Sat Mar 29, and features a host of top comedy, music and fun sure to keep all ages entertained.
The festival will start off in style with Stan Laurel: Please Stand Up! (Tues Mar 25). Fans of Stan Laurel will be able to discover the man behind the legend in this touching new one-man show performed by Bob Kingdom, whose award-winning performances as Dylan Thomas and Truman Capote have delighted audiences around the world. There will be more comedy the following night when laid-back comedian Alun Cochrane (Wed Mar 26) takes the stage, and further laughs in-store with a performance from cult comedian Phil Cool (Sat Mar 29).
Two very different musical performances – from opposite sides of the world - will also be staged during the festival. Hull Truck is pleased to welcome traditonal Japanese musician Joji Hirota and his Taiko group, who will perform a programme of thrilling and energetic drumming (Thurs Mar 27). The following night will see a very different type of musical performance as tribute acts David Bowee and his band, and The Rex, rock the theatre!
Festival fun is not just restricted to adults – there is plenty for younger audiences too. Chucklevision writer and children’s author Ian Billings will perform Talking Pants (Wed Mar 26) - a stand-up show for children! There will also be a new storytelling spectacular from the ever-popular Moby Duck Theatre Company, The Kam Tree (Sat Mar 29).
