All the action of the beautiful game at Hull Truck in…
STUDS

Thursday April 10 – Saturday May 3 2008

As the end of the football season approaches, some vital questions are still to be answered – can a non-Premiership side lift the FA Cup, will Hull City achieve their promotion dream…and how will the Easton Bank Sunday League team fare in the County Cup? Audiences at Hull Truck Theatre will be able to find out the answer to the last cliff-hanger when the hilarious Gordon Steel play Studs takes the stage.

Studs follows the ups and downs of local side Eston Bank Hotel – not only the players, but also their supporters on the touchline. A super-competitive manager and some wannabe WAGs make sure there is almost as much action off the field as there is on it, especially when the lads decide to take a weekend trip to Scarborough. Little do they know that the suspicious girls are not far behind, and plenty of offside antics follow!

The Studs cast includes David MacCreedy who is no stranger to sports-drama with previous credits including the films Goal II and John Godber’s Up N Under! Studs also sees the return of stars from Truck’s Christmas productions, Rob Angell (Blue Cross Xmas) and Amy Thompson (Little Red Riding Hood), along with Liz Carney (Satin ‘n’ Steel) and debutant Frazer Hammill. The action will be directed by Hull Truck’s associate director Nick Lane.

Studs is a must-see for theatre-goers, but also a fantastic night for football fans – a great way to celebrate or commiserate the end of the season. Be a winner and book now!
