Schools

Schools and Colleges

Whether you want to come to our theatre or want our professionals to visit you in school, we offer a variety of drama and theatre programmes linked to productions and/or the curriculum.

All our work is bespoke and designed in partnership with Schools and Colleges.

Workshops & Backstage Tours

Bespoke workshops, tours and resource materials are available throughout the year to enhance children’s experience and learning. Workshops can take place at the theatre or in your school.

School Partnerships

Our Partnership Scheme sees one of our Creative Learning Practitioners taking up residency in a School or College all year round, every week of the academic year.  The Resident Practitioner leads cross-curricular and extra-curricular drama sessions across the school planned in partnership with staff.

RSC Associate Schools Programme

We work with Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as part of a national project run by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and delivered in partnership with St Mary’s College. Due to the success of this existing partnership, we’ve launched a new cluster which will be delivered by Hull Truck Theatre in conjunction with Southcoates Primary Academy.

The RSC Associate Schools Programme transforms experiences of Shakespeare and live theatre for young people. It also improves their reading and writing skills, encourages a positive attitude to learning and builds confidence. Classroom teachers are empowered to deliver a vibrant and engaging programme using real life rehearsal room techniques.

We are currently recruiting Primary Schools in Hull to become part of the Associate Schools Programme for the academic years 2023-24 and 2024-25 and would love to hear from you if you’re interested in getting involved. The financial investment is £400 per year – terms and conditions apply. For further details and to express your interest, please contact: Tom Saunders: Tom.Saunders@hulltruck.co.uk
