Donations welcome for The Open Doors Project
27 Nov 2024 | General News
Over the festive season Hull Truck Theatre will be collecting donations for The Open Doors Project. This Charity welcomes, supports and helps destitute sanctuary seekers, refugees and migrant workers who are living and working in Hull and East Yorkshire. We welcome donations consisting of non-perishable food items (e.g., tins, rice, pasta, sugar, tea bags, coffee) and unused toiletries (e.g., shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap). These items can be left in the designated area in our foyer space on the ground floor of the theatre. Charlotte Denston, Community Partnership Coordinator at Hull Truck Theatre, said: “Although Christmas is a joyful time for many, for some, it can be challenging. Many people who use the Open Doors service are separated from their families and surviving on a very low income. Last year Hull Truck Theatre audiences were very generous with their donations and Open Doors were incredibly grateful. We hope you can show your support once again and bring some relief to those who otherwise may go without over the Christmas period." Please feel free to bring donations when you come to see one of our Christmas shows. Book now for The Borrowers (29 November – 4 January) or Rapunzel ( 12 – 29 December) or call the Box Office on 01482 323638. Open Doors is based at the Methodist Church on Princes Avenue, Hull. If you would like to make any larger donations, such as children’s toys or clothing, please visit them directly. https://www.hulltruck.co.uk/news/donations-welcome-for-the-open-doors-project-1/
