1. Venue Experience Guide

We have created a Venue Experience Guide which may help you, or members of your party, make plans and prepare ahead of your visit. You can view the guide online here.

If you would like to arrange a pre-show visit to the theatre, we’d be more than happy to help. Please contact the Box Office on 01482 323638 or email boxoffice@hulltruck.co.uk

2. Shoot the Bull Café Bar

The café bar is open Wednesday and Saturday, 10am – 5pm (non-performance days) and 10am – evening show starts (performance days).

On all other days the café bar is open from 2 hours before a show starts. If there is no show, the café bar remains closed. Last food orders are 30 mins before the show begins. You can find more information and a menu online here.

3. Toilet Facilities & Baby Changing

There are male and female toilet facilities on the Ground Floor (female located through the door marked ‘Godber Studio’ and male located to the left of the bar).

There are all gender toilets on the Second Floor. You can access these by going through the door marked ‘Godber Studio’ and up the staircase on the left. If you are not able to use the stairs, and would like to use the all gender toilets, please let a Front of House staff member know and we can take you to the Second Floor via a lift.

Accessible Toilets / Stoma Friendly

We have two, individual, accessible toilets located by the female and male toilets, on the Ground Floor. When using these toilets please give priority to people whose need is more urgent and be aware that not all disabilities are visible.

Both of these accessible toilets are also #StomaFriendly and include additional shelf/hooks and #StomaAware information, alongside bins, mirror and accessible toilet signage.

Baby Changing

There is a larger cubicle in both the ground floor male and female toilets which include a pull-down baby change table. In the female toilets this cubicle is farthest from the entrance. In the male toilets this cubicle is the closest to the entrance. If you need any baby changing items, such as nappies or wipes, please speak to a member of the Front of House or Box Office team.

If you would like to use the all gender toilets and require baby changing facilities, please let a Front of House staff member know and we can bring you a portable baby changing table.

Changing Places

The closest Changing Places facility is located inside St Stephen’s Shopping Centre, a 2 min walk away. You can find more information about these facilities online here.

4. Free Period Products

Hull Truck Theatre is an inclusive venue and we provide free period products in all toilets (Male, Female, Accessible and All Gender), for anyone who may need access to them. To ensure that we can continue to provide these free of charge please only take what you need during your visit.

5. Breast Feeding Friendly & Hull Milk Trail

We are proud to be a breastfeeding friendly organisation as part of the Breastfeeding Friendly Premises Award Scheme. Parents are welcome to breastfeed, bottle feed or express on the premises, and Hull Truck Theatre have been specially trained to offer parents any support they may need.

Hull Truck Theatre is now part of the Hull Milk Trail; a new trail around Hull City Centre which shines a light on nine venues where anyone breastfeeding their baby can find a comfortable spot, and a supportive atmosphere. The aim of the trail is to ensure breast-feeding friendly spots are easy to identify, while also normalising breastfeeding through education.

6. Free Children’s Play Area

There is a free children’s play area located on the Ground Floor which includes books, beanbags, dress up items, sensory toys and a wooden puppet theatre. We ask that any items taken from the play area are tidied away before you leave the venue. Items (aside from sensory items) should not be taken into a performance. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Management cannot accept responsibility for any injury caused.

The play area is available during theatre opening hours, Wed & Sat, 10am - 5pm / Tue, Thu, Fri,  11am - 5pm.

We have a small number of ear defenders available to loan (baby, toddler and adult sizes) which can be useful for customers with auditory sensitivities. We also have a small number of wobble cushions and a range of sensory toys available.

Please feel free to bring with you any items that usually assist in coping with busy or noisy environments, including ear plugs, sensory toys or sunglasses.
